With reference to the use of electric tools, we are still in the process of discussing the issue with the Polish goveernment as it involves some lack of clarity related to legal documents. I will keep you informed on the future developments of this issue. As far as the translation of the Convention is concerned, we have been informed, and I quote, that: "presently binding Appendixes I-IV and correct translatio to Polish have been send to Ministry of Foreign Affairs last month for publishin in= the Official Journal. Ministry of Foreign Affairs knows all comments and reservations submitted to the last publicaiton of the Bern Convention in the Appendix to the Official journal by Ms. Barbara Glowacka and we hope that the documents we have send will not arise any reservation" and with reference to the translation of the footnote I quote again: "the translation to Polish of the note in footnote to Appendix IV concerning non-selective capture of mammals with nets was consulted with the Institute of Environmental Protection that did not confirm reservation presented by Ms. Barbara Glowacka. Nevertheless, Department of Nature Conservation after further consultation, corrected the translation so as the Polish version fully reflected wording in the English language". I hope the above brings to an end the problems related to translation, and hope that we will soon have an answer or some action taken with regard to capturing freshwater fish and crayfish by use of electric tools.
